Been referring people to “Harrison Bergeron” for decades now, ever since I read it as a young Vonnegut fan, back before Douglas Adams trumped him as my prime source of social absurdity commentary.
My old blog made reference to “lowest common denominator” constantly, mostly because that is where sin and depravity always lead: to the basest of base within the human species. Sadly, you will never fail if you select “the gutter” over “the penthouse” as the destination of most of humanity’s wants and “needs.” The slope is slippery, and it always leads to a semi-clogged pipe of filth dumping into the cold, merciless sea.
